Send a Copy

To keep your Budgets secure when sending to other Movie Magic Budgeting users the system uses a peer-to-peer system as a replacement to emailing Budget files.

Note: Sending a Copy will send a copy of the Budget with the data at the moment it was sent. The recipient will not receive updates to that Budget unless you send another copy to them.

Note: Each time you open the Send a Copy window the system revalidates the recipients listed against MMB's user directory. If a recipient is no longer a valid MMB user, that row shows an error and the SEND button stays disabled until you remove or correct that recipient.

Using Send a Copy

To send a copy of the active Budget tab, click the Send button in the top navigation bar.

Sent a Copy window

The Send a Copy window allows you to select one or more recipients and securely send them your current budget.

• Click ADD RECIPIENT
• Type in the email address of a Movie Magic Budgeting user
  • The recipient must be a user of MMB10+
  • The recipient does not need to have an active subscription, but will not be able to view the budget you send until they re-activate their subscription
• Press TAB or ENTER
• Click the SEND

The recipient will receive an email notification that a budget has been shared with them. They must log in to see budgets that have been Sent to me].

Type-Ahead Suggestions

When you type two or more characters in the Email field, MMB shows matching contacts from your previous send and receive history.

• Use the up and down arrow keys to move through the list
• Press ENTER or click to select a contact
• New email addresses are saved to your suggestion list after each successful send

Suggestions are unique to your user account and persist across sessions.

Sending Updates

Once changes have been made to your Budget you can re-open the Send a Copy window and see that the SEND UPDATE button will be available for any previous recipients. Click this to send the recipient a new copy of the Budget with the current data.

This does not overwrite the previous budget copy they were sent. It will be received as a brand new copy.
