Link a Budget to SmartAccounting

Linking a budget tells EP's SmartAccounting which project it belongs to. Once a budget is linked, SmartAccounting reads its latest saved version on its own schedule, so there is nothing to send or resend from MMB.

You need the SmartAccounting license number for the project.

1. Open the budget.
2. Click the Send button in the top navigation bar to open the Share Budget window.
3. Click the LINK TO SA tab.
4. Enter the license number in the License # field and click SEARCH.
5. Check the project name that comes back, then click LINK.

The tab then shows the linked project, its license number, and the date it was linked.

Note: A link cannot be changed or removed in MMB after it is made. Confirm the project name before you click LINK.

If the license number does not return a project you can access, no link is made and the tab tells you so. Correct the number and search again, or contact the SA project administrator.

Link Status in Manage Budgets

The SA Project Id column in Open & Manage Budgets shows the license number each budget is linked to. The column is read-only; links are made in the Link to SA tab.

Exporting

Use the Export feature to save your budget as an MMB 7 or Tab Delimited file to import to SmartAccounting or other accounting programs.
